In a recent gazette notice, the Election Commission has announced that voters can cast their ballots at polling stations other than their designated ones in the upcoming presidential election. Eligible voters who are unable to vote at their assigned polling station for valid reasons can request to vote at an alternative location.

To do so, voters must submit their applications to the Election Commission by the 1st of August. These applications need to be certified by Grama Niladhari from the applicant’s residential area; otherwise, they will be deemed invalid.
