Sri Lankan Injured by Missile Debris in Northern Israel

A Sri Lankan national has been injured by debris from a missile intercepted by the Iron Dome system in northern Israel. The incident occurred near the Lebanese border, where the individual was engaged in agricultural work.

The Sri Lankan embassy in Israel confirmed the incident, stating that the injured person sustained a head injury from a piece of iron. Israeli security forces promptly transported the injured individual to a hospital for treatment.

Sri Lanka’s ambassador to Israel, Mr. Nimal Bandara, reported that the man’s condition is not serious.

The accident took place while the individual was heading to a safe room, following the activation of sirens warning of an incoming attack. Mr. Bandara noted an increase in shelling and small-scale missile attacks along the Israel-Lebanon border. He emphasized the importance of immediately seeking shelter upon hearing sirens to ensure safety.
