10 Dead, 50 Missing After Buses Plunge into a River

Two passenger buses fell into the Trishuli River in Nepal today (12) following a landslide caused by heavy rains, resulting in 10 deaths and 50 people missing. The incident occurred around 3:30 AM local time on the Narayangath Muglin road in Chitwan district, approximately 100 km from Kathmandu.

One bus was en route to Kathmandu with 24 passengers, while the other was heading to Ghor. Although the official record shows 65 passengers initially, the actual number onboard during the accident is unknown, as passengers may have boarded along the way, according to Nepalese authorities.
