Thalangama Police report a robbery at the residence of former cricketer Sachithra Senanayake on Gramodaya Mawatha, Kalalgoda, Pannipitiya. The thieves made off with numerous valuable items, including wrist watches, laptops, tablet devices, gold items, and cash.
Initial investigations indicate that the intruders also took the storage system for the security cameras. The break-in occurred when Senanayake and his family were away. The robbers gained entry by breaking a window on the lower floor, then proceeded to break open a cupboard in the bedroom to steal the valuables inside.
Upon the family’s return the next evening, they found the electricity had been cut off and the front door left open. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
