Police have discovered the body of an unidentified woman in a garbage canal in the Colombo area.
The discovery was made following a tip-off received yesterday afternoon (29), reporting a dead body in the Stacepura area of the Grandpass police jurisdiction.
The deceased woman, estimated to be between 45 and 50 years old and standing at 4 feet 9 inches tall, was found wearing a red dress with yellow flowers. Her identity has not yet been determined. The body has been transported to the Colombo National Hospital for further examination.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident.
