The Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast indicating intermittent rain in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the districts of Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara.
Some areas in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, along with Galle and Matara districts, could see rainfall reaching up to 75mm with a high chance of showers.
Additionally, sporadic rain is expected in the Northern and North-Central provinces. Uva province and the districts of Ampara and Batticaloa may experience rain or thundershowers during the evening or nighttime hours.
The western slopes of the central hills, along with the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, and the districts of Trincomalee, Hambantota, and Monaragala, are likely to experience occasional wind gusts ranging between 40-50 km/h.
The Department of Meteorology advises the public to take necessary precautions to mitigate the risks posed by temporary strong winds and lightning associated with thunderstorms.
